This specialised programme paves the way for a career in the media industry through three pathways which are film and television, journalism as well as marketing and communications. With an in-depth understanding of the field’s fast-changing dynamics, our students become trailblazers with impressive achievements. They have have set up their own digital media companies, are working with some of the largest public relations companies in the world and write for leading newspapers.

Coursework percentage: 60% and written examination percentage: 40%.

Academic Requirements

STPM

Passed at least two (2) subjects with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.00) in any two (2) subjects

A-Level

Passed at least two (2) subjects with a minimum Grade D in any two (2) subjects

UEC

A minimum of 5 credits B6 including English. Applicant without credit in English (UEC) but obtained credit in English (SPM) qualified for enrolment.

International Baccalaureate

Minimum score of 26/42 for six subjects (A Minimum of Grade 4 for credit transfer – Year 1)

Matriculation

A minimum CGPA of 2.0 and credit in English at SPM or its equivalent

Australia Year 12

Minimum mark of 60%

Canadian Pre-U

Minimum mark of 60%

UCSI Foundation in Arts

Completed (minimum CGPA 2.0/4.0)

Diploma or equivalent

For international students:

In the event that the English Language Requirements are not met, student may be offered a “Conditional Offer” with the condition English competency is met through university’s English module.

Note: The credit requirement in English at the SPM level can be waived if the said qualification includes English subject/s and its achievement is equivalent to or exceeds the credit requirement of the subject at the SPM level.

  • Placement into the various levels of the English for Tertiary Education programme depends on the English Language qualification students have at the point of admission and/or the outcome of the English Placement Test.
  • The applicants who have met the respective academic programme’s English Language Requirement may be advised by Faculty to improve their proficiency by undertaking the additional English proficiency courses.
  • International students holding equivalent academic qualifications but which are not conducted in English, are required to sit for the English Placement Test, which may result in the taking of the English for Tertiary Education (1 to 10 months). Students who intend to pursue the above undergraduate programme directly, are advised to fulfil the above English requirements prior to commencing their studies at the University.
