Course Overview
The programme focuses on providing understanding of the historical forces that have led to contemporary civilizations. It deals with various fields of history and civilization, including ancient civilizations, Muslim history and civilization, Southeast Asian history, Western history and civilization, and history of Islah and Tajdid movements in the Muslim World. A holistic approach is used in the study of human past and this offers an understanding of the causes and processes involved in the rise and fall of civilizations through time and space.
Entry Requirements
General Requirements for Malaysians
The general academic requirements for admission into undergraduate degree programmes of IIUM as follows:
- Minimum Requirements STPM / STAM / Diploma / Asasi UiTM / PASUM :
A Pass at the SPM level or equivalent with at least
- A Credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia or equivalent
- A Credit in “Pendidikan Islam” / “Tasawwur Islam” / ”Pendidikan Al-Qur’an & As-Sunnah” / ”Pendidikan Syariah Islamiah” at the SPM level or equivalent;
- A Credit in any three (3) subjects in SPM/equivalent.
and
A Diploma or any other Equivalent Qualification with a CGPA 3.00 recognized by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the Senate of the University
or
A Pass at the STAM examination with at least Jayyid Jiddan:
or
A Pass at the STPM examination with a CGPA of 3.00 or at least:
- Grade C [Subject Grade Point (SGP)] of 2.00 in the General Paper;
- Grade C [Subject Grade Point (SGP)] of 2.00 in two [2] of other subject taken.
and
Obtained a required Band in the “Malaysian University English Test” (MUET) as specify by each programmes.
