Course Overview

By its very nature, tourism, hospitality and planning are multidimensional and are purposely integrative. Given the growing urban challenges, the need for training, skill upgrading and knowledge enhancement in the field of tourism and hospitality is demanding. Therefore, IIUM Bachelor of Tourism Planning and Hospitality Management are to give a platform for those involved in the field of tourism and hotel industry to acquire new skills and knowledge. Input on Islamic perspectives in the field of tourism, hospitality and management has been incorporated into the courses to make the graduates more aware of their roles as Khalifah and Murabbi in this challenging scenario and current development.

Entry Requirements

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR MALAYSIANS:

The general academic requirements for admission into undergraduate degree programmes of IIUM as follows:

* Applicant must have qualification from Column A (SPM) and any other equivalent qualification from Column B (Diploma or STAM or STPM) and from Column C (MUET).

* The University reserves the right to change the above requirements at any time without prior notice.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:

The general academic requirements for admission into undergraduate degree programmes of IIUM are:

1.                  At least three (3) principal passes (minimum grade D) in the General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced Level’ (GCE) ‘A’ Level Examination (UK Educational System) obtained in one sitting; OR

2.                  Any other qualifications that are recognized by the Senate of the University as equivalent to the above
 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate must fulfill English Language requirement and Arabic Language requirement as stated below :

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

If deemed necessary, applicants may also be required to attend an interview and/or take an entrance test conducted by the Board of Admissions.
