Students who complete this degree are prepared to work in the academic, public, nonprofit, and corporate sectors. The PhD degree holders will be allowed to continue independent research to increase scientific understanding in the food industry. The curriculum of the program emphasizes research and leadership roles in the food and nutrition industry.It trains students for jobs in governmental, charitable, and academic institutions.
For successful completion of the PhD degree in LUC, each candidate should publish a minimum of Four research articles in Scopus indexed journals, with Lincoln University College affiliation.

Entry Requirements
- Master’s degree (Level 7, Malaysian Qualifications Framework, (MQF) in Nutrition or related fields accepted by the Lincoln University College Senate; or
- Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Nutrition recognized by the Government of Malaysia.
- Candidates without a related qualification in the field/s or working experience in the relevant fields must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the Lincoln University College Senate.
For international students, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 500 OR International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5.0 OR its equivalent is needed. If a student does not meet this requirement, the Lincoln University College must offer English proficiency courses to ensure that the student’s proficiency is sufficient to meet the needs of the programme. This is normally conducted through an assessment process.
