What you’ll learn

You’ll begin your Newcastle University MBA journey by developing a comprehensive understanding of business and management.

Then you’ll start to prepare for the key challenges of business in the 21st century and the changing landscape of the future. You’ll choose two electives, which will:

  • develop your skill set
  • enhance your knowledge of emerging business trends and thinking

Finally, you will apply your learning through a range of projects. You’ll learn experientially , with opportunities to:

  • integrate your knowledge

Throughout the programme, business professionals will contribute to your teaching and learning experience. You’ll be able to attend industry-led events and join in intensive leadership and personal development challenges.

You’ll also have the option to take part in international experiences. You could attend lectures at one of our partner business schools, or work with global businesses.

A 2:1 honours degree, or international equivalent.

Work experience requirement

An equivalent of three years (minimum) significant, full-time, post-graduation work experience. Your experience, presented in your CV and personal statement, should demonstrate managerial responsibilities that could include oversight of one or all of the following:

  • budgets
  • products
  • projects
  • people

Exceptional applicants without the required academic qualification may be considered if you have more than five years of significant, full-time, post-graduation work experience and are able to demonstrate significant career progression.

Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT®)

You do not need to take the GMAT to study our MBA. However, we recognise it as a rigorous and challenging assessment of analytical, numerical and verbal reasoning skills. If you have taken GMAT then we will consider it alongside your other qualifications and experience.
