Entry Requirements
Applicants require one (1) of the following:
- Recognised Matriculation OR Foundation OR equivalent with CGPA 2.00 OR TWO (2) Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) Grade C (CGPA 2.00) OR TWO(2) Principal Passes at A-level OR equivalent AND a credit in the following at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level/O- Level OR equivalent:
- Additional Mathematics OR;
- Mathematics AND one of the Science, Technology or Engineering;
- Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in Mathematics at STPM level/ A-level OR equivalent AND a credit in one of the Science, Technology or Engineering at SPM level/ O-level OR equivalent.
- TWO (2) STPM (science stream) OR equivalent with Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in Mathematics AND Science/ ICT.
- FIVE (5) Bs in United Examination Certificate (UEC) including Additional Mathematics OR a credit in the following at SPM level/ O-level OR equivalent:
- Additional Mathematics OR;
- Mathematics AND one of the Science, Technology or Engineering;
- Grade B in Mathematics at UEC AND a credit in one of the Science, Technology or Engineering at SPM level/ O-level OR equivalent;
- Grade B in Mathematics at UEC AND one of the Science/ ICT, Technology or Engineering at UEC.
- Five (5) CPU passes with a minimum average of 50% AND a credit in the following at SPM level/ O-level OR equivalent:
- Additional Mathematics OR;
- Mathematics AND one of the Science, Technology or Engineering;
- Five (5) SAM / TEE examination passes with a university aggregate of 50% and a credit in the following at SPM/ O-level OR equivalent:
- Additional Mathematics OR;
- Mathematics AND one of the Science, Technology or Engineering;
- A Diploma in Computer Science/ Information Systems/ Information Technology/ Software Engineering or equivalent with a minimum CGPA 2.50.
- Any other Diploma in Science and Technology with a minimum CGPA 2.50.
Notes:
Candidates for category vi and vii with CGPA below 2.50 but above 2.00 may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process.
Candidates for category i (b), iii (b), iv (b) and v (b) need to take Mathematics reinforcement subjects with topics relevant to Computer Science at the beginning of their studies.
Students must pass the Mathematics reinforcement subject as a prerequisite before being allowed to take the relevant core course. However, this provision does not prevent students from pursuing other courses either core or non-core that do not require the Mathematics reinforcement subject.
Credits for Mathematics reinforcement subjects are additional credit to core subjects and can be taken into account for undergraduate credit.
Mathematics reinforcement subject requirements may be excluded if the Mathematics at the Matriculation or recognised Foundation or its equivalent offers Mathematics and its achievement is equivalent to / above the credit requirements of the Additional Mathematics subject at SPM level;
International applicants will also be required to fulfil one of the following English language competencies:-
- IELTS: 5.0 or
- TOEFL: 500 or
- Equivalent qualification
