The HELP Diploma in Communication programme is delivered by a team of experts with extensive experience in the media and communication industries, possessing qualifications from institutions that are leaders in the study and teaching of communication.

The HELP University Diploma in Communication provides a solid foundation for degree studies in media and communication at HELP University or beyond. At HELP University it provides direct entry into Year 2 of the Bachelor of Communication (Hons) programme with a choice of 3 majors (Media Studies, Marketing Communication and Public Relations).

Programme Highlights

  • Highly practical in nature, involving studio-based production of talk shows and field production of short videos and documentaries
  • Provides adequate knowledge and basic skills in all phases of print and media production, advertising, broadcasting and public relations
  • Hands-on experience in handling industry standard Panasonic HD cameras and Final Cut Pro editing software
  • Internship lasting one semester gives students real world exposure to media and production
  • School’s close links with industry and government sector help students secure internships and practical exposure at leading television stations, production houses and other media organisations
  • Provides pathways to a wide range of degree or postgraduate studies in Journalism, Marketing Communication, Public Relations, Advertising, Filmmaking and Design

Entry Requirements

You will need to fulfill one of these entry requirements to join the programme.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have one of the following entry requirements:

  • A pass in SPM or its equivalent, with a minimum of 3 credits in any subject, including English; or
  • 3 O-Level credits (including English) or 3 Bs (including English) in Senior Middle Three (UEC) or equivalent
  • A pass in STPM or its equivalent, with a min Grade C in any subject
  • A Certificate in Media or Communication or its equivalent

International Students only:

International students who do not have the minimum English language entry requirement may be accepted into the programme. However, they are first to enroll in the university’s Intensive English Programme (IEP) and sit for the IELTS or other similar tests. Upon passing the test with 5.0 score or equivalent, students can formally enroll in the faculty programme.
