Overview
Supply Chain Management (SCM) is the oversight of materials, information, and finances as they move in a process from supplier to manufacturer to wholesaler to retailer to consumer. SCM involves coordinating and integrating these flows both within and among companies. SCM includes the holistic process of movement and storage of raw material, work- in-process inventory, and finished goods from the point of origin to point of consumption. Interconnected and interlinked networks, channels and node businesses are involved in the provision of provision of product and services required by end customers in a supply chain. SCM has been defined as the “design, planning, execution, control, and monitoring of supply chain activities with the objective of creating net value, building a competitive infrastructure, leveraging worldwide logistics, synchronizing supply with demand and measuring performance globally. SCM draws heavily from the areas of industrial engineering, systems engineering, operations management, logistics, procurement, and information technology, and strives for an integrated approach.
Master in Supply Chain Management (MSCM) specialization program is covering wide ranges of management discipline involved in the supply chain industries starting from procuring raw material till end product received by end consumer.
Master in Supply Chain Management (MSCM) is the complement of other master degree program offered in Universiti Kuala Lumpur – Malaysian Institute of Industrial Technology (UniKL MITEC) dealing with jobs environment of all industry as all involve movement of material and supply. Generally, Supply Chain Management (SCM) is the perfect pair with Logistics. Logistics is the enabler for SCM. Without Logistics, SCM can never be done and vice versa. Logistician and SCM professional with regards to this area of professions had been transformed into academic bachelor programs in UniKL MITEC, namely Bachelor in Industrial Logistics. In order to enhance the knowledge and skill subsequently guaranteed enhancement in career path, these Bachelor in Industrial Logistics levers and related industry worker, this new proposed programme need to be offered.

Academic Requirements (Locals)

- A Bachelor’s degree with minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00, or its equivalent qualifications as accepted by the HEP Senate OR
- A Bachelor’s degree with CGPA below 2.50 out of 4.00, or its equivalent qualifications as accepted, subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant field
For postgraduate studies, international students are required to achieved a minimum score of 6.0 for IELTS OR its equivalent.
