The Diploma of Business is your first step towards achieving your goals of obtaining a degree in business at Monash. Year 1
In your first year, you’ll study eight units in the Diploma of Business. These subjects will provide you with a strong grounding in basic technical, theoretical, and practical knowledge that will set you on the path to a Monash business degree.

Prerequisites
Credit in Mathematics (Australian Year 11 equivalent).
English requirements
The following English proficiency tests are accepted:
- IELTS (Academic)/IELTS One Skill Retake (Academic)/IELTS Online – Overall band score of 5.5 with no band less than 5.0
- TOEFL iBT/TOEFL iBT Paper Edition – A total score of 46 with 14 in Writing and Speaking, and 4 in Listening and Reading
- Pearson Test of English (Academic) – Overall score of 47 with no Communicative Skills lower than 36
- C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency – Overall score of 162 with no skill score lower than 154
Tests must be taken within 24 months prior to course commencement.
Monash University does not accept TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition, Pearson Test of English (Academic) Online and Cambridge Linguaskill General as satisfying the English entry requirement for any Monash course.
