Programme Overview
The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) programme nurtures graduates to be researchers and scholars who are capable of developing critical and creative research perspectives for a given frontier of knowledge. This is to provide leadership expertise in managing organizational change and development to bring values to the organization.
This may contribute to original research in the fifield of business and management that is benefificial to academia, industry, and society. The MPhil graduates will usually continue to pursue Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme.
Programme Objectives
- To engage students to acquire and research on in-depth knowledge with relevant research skills in the field of business and management;
- To equip students with relevant research methods and forms of enquiry to explore the frontiers of knowledge in the field of business and management research.
- To enhance students’ ability to articulate and communicate research findings in both oral presentations and reports.
Entry Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree
A pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the University Senate; or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 2 years working experience in relevant field; or equivalent not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant field.
International
A minimum score of Band 6.0 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or minimum score of 550 for a paper-based total or 80 for an Internet based total for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); or minimum of Grade C in First Cambridge English (FCE) minimum scale 169, or B2 in CEFR, or Pearson Test of English (PTE 50-58) as required proficiency; or a recognized first degree undertaken in English medium; or successful attainment of FCE minimum of Grade C (169) conducted by the Centre for English Language (CEL) within 12 months from the date of entry with conditional offer letter.
Note: The validity period for IELTS and TOEFL is two years from the date awarded.
APEL
Minimum 30 years of age with STPM/Diploma/A-Level/equivalent and relevant work experience.
